  1.  the advertising of specific goods and services; and
  2.  political advertising.

NOTE: This standard applies to advertising targeting minors, however, more specific requirements are provided in the national standard TTS 94-2:2010, Requirements for advertising to children.

This standard does not apply to advertising and claims pertaining to:

  1.  food, drugs, cosmetics and devices; and
  2.  pesticides and toxic chemicals.

This standard does not apply to advertising and claims pertaining to:

  1.  food, drugs, cosmetics and devices; and
  2.  pesticides and toxic chemicals.

NOTE 1: Regulatory activities (including standards-related matters) pertaining to food, drugs, cosmetics and devices fall under the purview of the Chemistry, Food and Drugs Division, Ministry of Health which is so empowered under the Food and Drugs Act, (Chapter 30:01) and relevant regulations. The Standards Act (No. 18 of 1997) specifically limits the extent to which TTBS standards can incorporate requirements relating to these products.

NOTE 2: Regulatory activities (including standards-related matters) pertaining to pesticides and toxic chemicals fall under the Chemistry, Food and Drugs Division, Ministry of Health which is so empowered under the Pesticide and Toxic Chemicals Act, (Chapter 30:03) and relevant regulations. The Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards may develop standards to support such regulatory activities when specifically requested by the regulator to do so.
