Scope
This standard specifies the grading requirements for pineapples (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr. of the Bromoeliceae family), which are commercially grown, to be supplied fresh for trade to the local and export markets.
It also contains requirements for labelling, packaging and sanitary requirements for pineapples. This standard does not apply to pineapples for ornamental use or industrial processing.
