Tobago’s Tourist Taxi Drivers/Operators Seek To Improve Visitor Experience

In an attempt to improve the visitor experience to the unspoiled island of Tobago, The Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS), in collaboration with the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL), held a Stakeholder Sensitization Session for Tourist Taxi Drivers/Operators, to discuss their role in relation to the reimplementation of the Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Industry Certification (TTTIC) Programme.

The first phase of stakeholder sensitization sessions commenced in November 2018, for Tour Guides and Tour Operators. The next stakeholder session is carded for the end of March 2019 where Accommodation providers will be targeted.

This initiative forms part of an ongoing awareness campaign to discuss the relaunch of the TTTIC programme with key tourism stakeholders, all geared towards enhancing the overall visitor experience, to ensure their visit is a memorable one. It also provides a platform to improve, standardize and transform the delivery of service within our tourism industry.

In addressing the participants at the session on 7th February 2019 at the Buccoo Integrated Facility in Tobago, Ms. Candice Campbell, Standards Officer 1 – TTBS, shared key and invaluable insights about the beneficial aspects of the TTTIC process i.e. application to certification.
