Description
This document applies to rolled structural steel bars, plates, shapes and sheet piling and outlines the compulsory requirements for these products as well as the mechanisms to demonstrate compliance to these requirements. This document also includes measures to be taken in the event of non-compliance.
This document does not apply to steel bars used for concrete reinforcement.
NOTE: TTS/ASTM A615M:2010, Standard specification for deformed and plain carbon-steel bars for concrete reinforcement and TTS/ASTM A706M:2010, Standard specification for low-alloy steel deformed and plain bars for concrete reinforcement, apply to steel bars used for concrete reinforcement. At the time of declaration of this standard, TTS/ASTM A615M:2010 and TTS/ASTM A706M:2010 were being reviewed and it is anticipated that they will be replaced by a new standard, TTCS 8, Steel for the reinforcement of concrete – Compulsory requirements.
