The Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) is proud to announce successful transition of its ISO/IEC 17025:2017 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, quality system by the Inter-American Metrology System (SIM) on June 01st 2021.
While TTBS received similar approval from its then accreditation body United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) in 2019, and still maintains the same accreditation for its measurement scopes with American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), TTBS needed to receive transitional approval from the Regional Metrology Organization SIM.
The award of ISO/IEC 17025 transition approval serves to maintain TTBSs International recognition of its Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMC) for Mass (E2) : 1.00E-3 g to 2000 g with absolute expanded uncertainty : 2 µg to 8.0E2 µg). This internationally recognized (peer-reviewed and approved) (CMCs) was declared on the publically available International Bureau of Weights and Measures database of Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (BIPM-KCDB), on January 12th 2021.
As TTBS continues to improve its measurement capabilities to better serve Trinidad and Tobago achieve higher level development status worldwide, TTBS continue to acclaim and recognize its staff competence through their continued contributions to the maintenance of CMC achievement.
