Today, we join the regional and international community in celebrating World Metrology Day, which is commemorated annually on May 20th in recognition of the worldwide measurement system that supports industrial manufacturing and international trade. World Metrology Day recognizes the positive impact of the measurement system in its effect on the quality of life and the global environment. This year’s theme, “Measurements for Health,” strives to create awareness of the crucial role measurement plays in estimations of health and wellbeing, and is quite relevant in the context of the health and economic challenges we continue to face as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
