On the 9th September 2024, the Opening Session of the ISO Annual Meeting 2024 in Cartagena, TTBS and ASTM International reinforced its commitment to collaborate on standardization activities to facilitate trade, improve health, safety, environment and consumer protection, by renewing its long standing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The updated 2024 MOU was signed by Mr Jos\u00e9 E. Trejo, Executive Director, TTBS and Ms. Teresa Cendrowska, Vice President, Global Cooperation, ASTM International.<\/p>\n
As the National Standards Body in Trinidad and Tobago, TTBS has participated in the ASTM International\u2019s MOU program since 2022.<\/p>\n
ASTM International’s MOU program aims to promote communication between ASTM International and national standards bodies worldwide, fostering awareness of the standardization systems of all parties involved.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the program is to increase greater worldwide participation in the ASTM standards development process and facilitate the development of national standards that will aid health, safety, and environmental and economic conditions.<\/p>\n
TTBS has utilized a number of ASTM Standards to raise the level of quality in the construction industry with standards for products including hollow clay blocks, concrete blocks, ready-mixed concrete and cement.<\/p>\n
As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, TTBS is proud to renew its partnership with ASTM International and looks forward to continued collaboration with ASTM International.<\/p>\n
