[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1535990551466{margin-top: 5px !important;margin-left: 0px !important;border-top-width: 5px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 10px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;background-color: #f8f8f8 !important;}”][vc_column width=”2\/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1535990574869{margin-left: 0px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 5px !important;padding-left: 0px !important;background-color: #ffffff !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1621459082081{margin-left: 0px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;padding-left: 20px !important;}”]What is the WTO\/TBT Enquiry Point?<\/strong><\/p>\n Trinidad and Tobago as a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) has established a WTO\/TBT (World Trade Organization \/ Technical Barriers to Trade) Enquiry Point to answer reasonable enquiries from other WTO members, the private sector, trade officials, standards officials, regulators and any other domestic and international stakeholders on any adopted or proposed technical regulations, standards and conformity assessment procedures related to products under the scope of the TBT Agreement (See Article 10<\/a>).<\/p>\n Who is the WTO\/TBT Enquiry Point for Trinidad and Tobago?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago designated the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) as the National Enquiry Point in 1996 by Cabinet Minute No. 553.<\/p>\n How does the WTO\/TBT Enquiry Point operate?<\/strong><\/p>\n The WTO\/TBT Enquiry Point disseminates through the WTO, notifications of proposed local mandatory measures (technical regulations, standards and\/or conformity assessment procedures) that may have a significant effect on trade. WTO member countries are allowed sixty (60) days to comment on a proposed measure.
