The Trinidad and Tobago Laboratory Accreditation Service (TTLABS) hosted its fourth annual Laboratory Update meeting held at the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) on Wednesday 18th April 2018.
Mr Theodore Reddock, Executive Director (Acting) of TTBS welcomed a total of forty-four participants from testing, calibration and medical laboratories including representatives from Grenada and Aruba who participated online. A special greeting was made to Mr Ian Ramdahin, Permanent Secretary (Ag) from the Office of the Prime Minister representing the National AIDS Coordinating Committee.
Mr Reddock, in his welcome address, made mention of TTBS’ intention to conduct a census of all Conformity Assessment Bodies in Trinidad and Tobago and encouraged all attendees to cooperate with this effort.
TTLABS presented on the past and upcoming activities of TTLABS, as well as regional and international updates on accreditation activities. Guest presentations were made by Mrs Delicia Hernandez of Caribbean Analytical Services Ltd as well as Mrs Shivanna Mahabir-Lee of Environmental Sciences Ltd, two laboratories that are accredited by TTLABS.
