Enforcement of the Metrology Act No.18 of 2004
TTBS wishes to advise owners of prescribed measuring devices used for trade in the FUEL and COURIER sectors to have their devices verified by the 22nd October 2018.
Legal metrology is the branch of metrology that deals with laws and regulations relating to units of measurement, measuring devices and measurement methods. It helps provide support and protection to areas such as public safety, health, the environment and trade.
Indeed, one of the main roles of legal metrology is to ensure that measuring devices used in trade provide accurate measurements. This is done through a process called verification.
